Massimo Tezzon is Chairman of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Sator S.p.A., and member of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Arepo BP S.p.A. and Chairman of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Banca Popolare dell’Etruria e del Lazio.
Since April 2008, he is General Secretary of the Organismo Italiano della Contabilità, the Italian standard setter body for accounting policy and guidelines, responsible for the enactment of national accounting principles as well as for the enforcement of the International ones (IFRS).
Formerly, from November 1999 to April 2008, he served as General Manager of CONSOB, the Italian securities market regulator, which he joined in 1984 as manager, responsible for the Supervisory Office on corporate disclosure and audit.
In his role, Massimo Tezzon represented CONSOB in several important circumstances and events both at national and international level, and he served also as a member of the Commission for the enforcement of the IV, VII and VIII EU directives, established by the Italian Ministry of Justice.
He held many different managerial positions at the Italian Ministry for Public Participations (Ministero per le Partecipazioni Statali), serving also as auditor of many participated companies (e.g., Terme di Salsomaggiore S.p.A., Arsenale Triestino S. Marco S.p.A., Cnomv S.p.A., Cofimez S.p.A., Terme di Aqui S.p.A.).
Since 1996 he is Professor of Quantitative Methods and Audit at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome, where – since 2008 – he is also Professor of Corporate Governance and Internal Audit.
He received a BA in Business Administration and is also an Italian certified public accountant and auditor. He published several books on consolidated balance, audit and controls.
